An exhibition of artwork from the Big Picture's Best New Illustrators has been launched at London’s Illustration Cupboard Gallery.
The exhibition, which runs until 3 May, brings together stunning artwork from all ten of the Best New Illustrators.
Original images from Oliver Jeffers’ The Incredible Book Eating Boy , Mini Grey’s Kate Greenaway- winning, The Adventures of the Dish and the Spoon , and Polly Dunbar’s Penguin , are all included.
The exhibition highlights the diversity in style of all the winning illustrators but also their shared traits of artistic skill, draughtsmanship and vivid use of imagination.
At the launch party on April 22, best-selling picture book author and Best New Illustrators judge, Anthony Browne, presented each of the ten winning illustrators with an award, in front of a packed audience from the world of children’s publishing.
As Nicolette Jones, chair of the judges, commented - ‘the future of children’s illustration looks promising’
The Illustration Cupboard is the only gallery dedicated to the art of illustration. Visit their website to find out more.
