David Roberts and Sam Lloyd were highly commended by the judges.
The judging panel was chaired by Nicolette Jones of the Sunday Times and included author Malorie Blackman and author and illustrator Anthony Browne.
Commenting on the judging process Nicolette Jones said: “We were looking for originality, draughtsmanship, and for illustrators who understood how to use the relationship between words and text in a picture book...The final choice demonstrated skill in a variety of styles and different media, so there should be something here for readers of all tastes to enjoy. And the future of children’s illustration looks encouraging.”
