The Trouble with Wenlocks

Well known for his distinctive illustrations for other authors' writings, Stewart has now produced the first in a series of his own short novels for newly confident readers. Stanley Wells first meets a wenlock when travelling alone on a train, where he also teams up with the incredibly long-eared Dr Moon and his sidekick Morcambe. Together they search for and return a daughter to her father, and also restore enjoyment to other small children who have encountered the wenlocks. Stewart's delicately surreal story, shows us that to appreciate true happiness we must also experience some grief, that the two emotions are complementary, and that friendship can support us through the darkest of times.
