Monkey and Me

This book marks a welcome return from award-winning author Emily Gravett. A small girl takes her toy monkey everywhere with her. Together they imitate and then imagine visiting a string of real animals, from penguins to kangaroos, whose glorious images fill the pages. Eventually the pair sit down to enjoy their tea, oblivious to an unexpected visitor, who seems to have followed them back from their travels. This beautifully illustrated, stylish book is full of energy and fun. The endearing protagonist and her monkey leap around the pages with infectious vigour and each double page spread featuring the animals is a surprise and delight to behold. The repetitive, rhyming text lends itself to reading aloud and will undoubtedly be re-visited many times
